Forward-thinking families
The combination of regulatory freedom, intergenerational horizons and pro-innovation attitudes can be a recipe for powerful investment results. One size definitely does not fit all, with investment decisions often sitting in a broader constellation of considerations relating to tax management, vehicle structuring, the activities of family-owned corporation(s), and ethical or philanthropic priorities.
We have worked with family offices to forge new paths in their investment portfolios, such as investing with environmental/social impact, exploring esoteric/new investment strategies and uncovering unfamiliar/emerging managers.
Supporting family offices’ needs
While bfinance has grown, we seek to provide family offices with the ‘best of both worlds’: the client-focus and innovation of a ‘small’ independently-owned firm, combined with the influence and perspective of a global institutional player. We aim to be there as and when you need us: the majority of family office clients use us for targeted support on a project basis (e.g. 8-12 weeks); long-term support is available where appropriate.
The most popular service for our family office clients has been manager research and selection: here, the bfinance process has helped these clients to research strategies, acquire market knowledge and uncover a broad range of solutions. Other key services for family offices include strategic portfolio design / strategic asset allocation, fee reviews, risk analytics, ESG advisory and operational due diligence.
