Jason Pomatto joins bfinance after over 20 years with growth equity and alternatives investment manager Driehaus Capital Management. He brings with him extensive experience in institutional relationship management, consultant relationships, client advisory, performance analytics and business development.

Since being founded in 1999, bfinance has worked with over 300 sophisticated investors in 33 countries and has a total of eight locations worldwide. The firm opened its second Canadian office earlier this year and its first Australian office in 2016; it also has offices in Amsterdam, London, Montreal, Munich, Paris, Sydney and Toronto.

Prior to joining bfinance, Jason’s most recent role was as Vice President, Institutional Sales at Driehaus Capital Management in Chicago, where he determined the firm’s strategy, market positioning and product development. Jason has considerable experience in the financial services sector, and has held wide-ranging roles within the industry, including as an investment performance analyst, client relationship manager and consultant relationship manager.

At bfinance, Jason will work to strengthen the company’s US presence and ongoing international expansion by further developing bfinance’s North American offering for institutional investors. The opening of bfinance’s office in Chicago marks the formal commencement of the firm’s presence in the US, building on significant recent growth in bfinance’s US client base.

By opening a US office, bfinance aims to take advantage of its distinctive approach to investment consulting and strategic implementation services. The firm has become known for its high-quality, customised investment consulting services, and establishing a presence in the US will allow the firm to deliver its innovative advice, research, reporting, and investment manager selection to clients in a more consistent, formalized setting.

David Vafai, CEO at bfinance, said: “We are delighted that Jay is joining the team as he brings a wealth of industry experience to this new role. Launching a Chicago office will enable bfinance to provide better service to existing clients as well as expand our US presence in the years ahead. There is a significant opportunity for bfinance to grow in this market as asset owners are increasingly seeking more specialist and truly independent advice, a more customised approach and stronger governance of decision-making when it comes to implementing their investment strategies.”

Jason Pomatto, commenting on his appointment, said: “I am excited to be joining bfinance, a firm with great international credibility but a small but growing US presence, and building the company’s first office here. I’m looking forward to introducing bfinance’s unique approach to assisting institutional investors in designing, executing and monitoring sophisticated investment strategies.”
