Frithjof Vanzyp – Director

Frithjof has over 10 years of experience in the investment management industry. Frithjof started his career with eVestment, a global provider of institutional investment manager data and analytics. Frithjof held numerous roles at eVestment, which included opening and managing their offices in Australia and Hong Kong from 2009-2014. Frithjof joined bfinance in March 2016 as a Director of the Australian office. Frithjof holds a Masters degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Edinburgh, and is a CFA charterholder.

Vishal Sharma – Senior Associate

Vishal joined the bfinance Australian office in March 2017 as a senior associate. He has over 12 years’ experience in institutional business development and consultant relations, most recently at M&G investments where he was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with UK and global investment consultants. Vish joined M&G in 2011, having worked in institutional roles at Schroders and Legal and General Investment Management in London. Vishal holds a BA in Management and Economics from the University of Leeds, the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) Diploma and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Canada

Brian Cyr, CFA – Managing Director

Brian oversees the business development and relationship management of bfinance in Canada. Prior to joining bfinance in 2012, Brian was responsible for the servicing of institutional clients in Eastern Canada for Fidelity Investments. Previously, Brian was Manager, Investment Program, in Standard Life’s Group Savings & Retirement division. His responsibilities included the selection and monitoring of asset managers as well as investment counseling to DC and DB pension schemes across Canada. Brian began his career in 1998 at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDP) where he held various analyst roles, notably in Private Placements. Brian earned a BA in Public Communications and a BBA in International Business from Université Laval in Quebec City. Brian is a CFA charterholder.

France

Olivier Jéséquel, CAIA – Director

Olivier is in charge of business development with European and North-African French-speaking Institutional Investors. Prior to joining bfinance in 2006, Olivier was Institutional Key Accounts Manager with the French asset manager OFI Asset Management, where he started in 1999. Before, he held Product Specialist and Marketing roles within the asset management division of Banque Worms. He graduated with a Master in Management from Toulouse Business School in 1992 and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Germany

Ori Gotfrid – Senior Director

Ori Gotfrid oversees the bfinance operations in Germany and in German speaking Switzerland and Austria. Ori has over 17 years experience in banking and fund management advisory gained prior to joining bfinance with Adam Unternehmensberatung and Metzler Consulting. He joined bfinance in 2001 where he has build up the bfinance German business. Ori holds an MBA from European Business School and was a Research fellow at the Kyoto School of economics.

Michael Wolfram, CAIA – Director

Michael joined bfinance in 2011, when he spent his first semester in the London based Research team. Michael then became Director and covers institutional clients in the Munich office. He started his career at Dresdner Bank AG with an apprenticeship in 2000. He held different positions at a savings bank and an asset manager during the following years. During this period, he graduated with a part-time BA in International Management. He also holds a dual MBA degree from a British/Dutch Business School and is CAIA charterholder.

Italy

Ottavia Sebastiani – Director

Ottavia took up full time relationship management responsibilities with bfinance in 2007, and works in both the UK and Italian markets. Before joining she spent 2 years developing business relations for a family company in the hotel and leisure sector. Previous to that, she was a Pan-European Equity Sales to Italian Institutional Clients with Goldman Sachs in London. Ottavia began her career as an analyst in the Private Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley in Milan. She holds a BA (Hons) degree from University College in London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics.

The Middle East

Alex Denby – Director

Alex is a Director at bfinance focused on developing relationships in the Middle East and Africa. Previously, Alex worked with Robeco Middle East in Bahrain and was responsible for relationships in Central Asia and Africa. Alex holds a BA in Modern Languages from Bristol University.

Navneet Maheshwari – Director

Navneet is a Director at bfinance focusing on developing relationships in the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining bfinance in 2014, Navneet worked at NASDAQ Dubai where he was responsible for building the Exchange’s Equity Capital Markets business in the MENA and CIS region. Previously, Navneet worked for five years with Partners Group, a leading Private Markets Asset manager in their Switzerland and Singapore offices before relocating to Dubai to set up the Middle East office for the firm where he was responsible for Institutional Sales in the MENA region. Prior to joining Partners Group, Navneet worked at The Chatterjee Group, a leading public and private markets investor in India and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Navneet completed his Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA) from the Indian School of Business and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

The Netherlands

Frans Verhaar, CFA, CAIA, FRM – Director

Frans joined bfinance's London office in early 2007 as part of the research and development team where he worked with institutional investors from around the world to deliver their manager search and selection mandates. At the beginning of 2009, Frans moved across to business development side in order to focus on the Dutch and Belgian institutional Investor market. Frans joined bfinance from ING in The Hague where he had been based since 2001, latterly in their Fixed Income and Corporate Treasury department managing liquidity, foreign exchange and interest rate risks for ING Insurance Holding. Prior to that, Frans worked as a portfolio manager for institutional clients with ING Investment Management. Frans is a CFA, CAIA and FRM charterholder and holds an MScBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Nordics

Richard Tyszkiewicz – Senior Director

Richard joined bfinance in 2004 in order to build the company’s investment advisory business in the Nordic Region. He now manages relationships with public and private sector institutional clients in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland. Richard has 20 years’ experience within the investment industry, gained in senior international commercial roles at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and ABN AMRO Mellon in Brussels and London. He graduated with a joint MA (Hons) degree in Management and Spanish from the University of St. Andrews.

United Kingdom & Ireland

Pal Sarai – Managing Director, Head of Client Consulting EMEA, Australia & Asia.

Pal Sarai is head of client consulting for the UK and Ireland. Pal has over 20 years of experience in asset management and capital markets, the most recent of which was as a director of institutional products in the UK and Switzerland for Nordea Investment Management. Pal joined Nordea in 2008, having previously worked in senior roles in investment banks, hedge funds and financial services companies. Pal is also directing the expansion of bfinance in to Australia. Pal holds a masters degree in finance from Imperial College in London, and is a CAIA holder.

Sam Gervaise-Jones, CFA, Senior Director, Head of Client Consulting, UK & Ireland

Sam Gervaise-Jones is head of client consulting for the UK and Ireland. Sam has over 15 years of experience in financial markets. He joined bfinance in 2004. As a Senior Associate in the research team, Sam advised clients on manager selection in a wide range of asset classes. Since 2007 Sam has been responsible for relationships with many of bfinance’s largest Corporate and Local Authority Pension clients in the UK. Sam is also leading the expansion of bfinance in to the US. Prior to bfinance, Sam spent 4 years with Standard & Poor’s in their fund rating business. Sam holds the CFA charter, IMC and Series 7, 24, 62 and 79 designations in addition to an MA (Oxon) in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.

Chelsie Doyle – Senior Associate, Client Consulting - UK & Ireland

Chelsie joins the bfinance UK and Ireland client consulting team as Senior Associate. Prior to joining bfinance, Chelsie was Senior Institutional Relations Manager, UK & Ireland at Institutional Investor, where she was responsible for client relationships with institutional investors across Corporate and LGPS Pension Funds, Foundations, Endowments, and Insurance Firms. Chelsie holds a BA (Hons) degree from Durham University and is studying for the IMC qualification.

Paul Doyle - Director, Client Consulting, UK & Ireland

Paul is a director within the client consulting team responsible for relationships with clients in both the UK and Ireland. Prior to joining bfinance, Paul was a director with the fiduciary manager Kempen Capital Management, where he was responsible for the development of client relationships. Previous to this Paul worked within investment consulting at Buck Consultants (now Conduent) as an analyst, helping to advise pension schemes and he also worked as a fund researcher covering DGF’s, Corporate Bonds and Hedge Funds. Paul holds a MSc in Finance from University College Dublin and a BComm in Business from University College Cork.

USA
