Peter Hobbs – Managing Director, Private Markets
Peter Hobbs is Managing Director of Private Markets based in bfinance’s London office. Peter covers the Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Equity and Private Debt Markets. The bfinance Private Markets team provides a series of services including portfolio strategy and design, portfolio risk reviews and solutions, investment manager search and selection and due diligence. Peter has over 25 years of both principal investing and research experience. He joined bfinance from MSCI where he was Managing Director for Real Estate Research and Key Global Accounts, responsible for benchmarking and portfolio analysis, risk services and method development. Prior to this, Peter held various senior global research and business development roles with IPD, RREEF – the alternatives asset management division of Deutsche Bank, and Property & Portfolio Research. In 2015 he was shortlisted for Outstanding Industry Contribution at the IPE Real Estate Global Awards 2015. Peter has a PhD and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MIRCS).
Anne Feuillen – Senior Director, Private Markets
Anne is Senior Director of Private Markets based in bfinance’s London office. Anne covers the Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Debt and Real Estate Markets. Anne has 20 years of both principal investing and research experience. Anne was previously a Principal at Change Capital Partners, a specialist manager focused on European mid-market investments. Her private markets career began at GE Equity, the private equity arm of GE Capital, where she focused on European early-stage, growth capital and buyout transactions across multiple sectors. Anne has a First Class degree from HEC business school and speaks fluent French.
Niels Bodenheim – Director, Private Markets
Niels is Director of Private Markets based in bfinance’s London office. Niels covers the Private Debt, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Private Equity Markets. Niels has over 14 years of principal investing experience. Before joining bfinance, he worked with GE Capital where he was Executive Director for a direct lending fund called Mubadala GE Capital and primarily invested in leveraged loans and real estate in both the US and Europe. Niels has helped GE and its clients through many aspects of the origination, underwriting, risk management and portfolio management processes. He graduated with a degree in Finance and International Business from Pennsylvania State University and speaks fluent Dutch.
Anish Butani – Senior Associate, Private Markets
Anish Butani joined bfinance in April 2017 to provide specialist coverage to clients seeking to deploy capital to the Infrastructure sector and support initiatives in Real Estate and Private Equity Markets. Anish has over 10 years of experience in total, which included 8 years with KPMG Corporate Finance based in London, where he was a senior member of the infrastructure corporate finance team. Anish has significant experience acting as an M&A and valuations advisor to global infrastructure fund managers across all sub-sectors in the asset class, including renewable energy, regulated utilities, transport and social infrastructure. Prior to joining bfinance, Anish was at John Laing Group plc, the international investor in infrastructure, where he was responsible for leading and shaping divestment processes of their infrastructure project portfolio. Anish has a degree in Economics, Politics and International Studies from Warwick University.
Mathias Neidert, CFA – Managing Director, Head of Public Markets Investment Advisory
Mathias joined bfinance as a Senior Associate in March 2008 focusing on manager research and selection in the fixed income space. He was named Head of Public Markets in 2014, managing a team of asset class specialists in charge of investment advisory within listed equity and fixed income asset classes. Before joining bfinance, he worked for RBC Dexia in Luxembourg, most recently as Product Manager for Investment Analytics services. Mathias started his career in the investment fund industry in 2003. Mathias is a CFA Charterholder and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen (Lic. Oec. HSG) in Switzerland.
Dr Toby Goodworth – Managing Director, Head of Risk & Diversifying Strategies
Toby Goodworth is Head of Risk & Diversifying Strategies at bfinance, having managed risk in hedge fund portfolios since 2003. Previously Toby was Head of Risk Management at Key Asset Management, one of Europe's oldest fund of hedge funds, where he designed and ran the firm's bespoke risk models. Prior to that he was a risk analyst focusing on quantitative global equity strategies. Toby holds a Ph.D in Physics from University College London and a First Class honours degree in Physics, also from UCL.
Chris Stevens – Director, Diversifying Strategies
Justin joined bfinance in 2014 from Buck Consultants where he was UK Head of Manager Research and Selection. He brings with him over a decade of equity manager research experience having previously worked at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. At ADIA he helped establish the External Emerging Market Equities capability whilst running a number of multi-manager portfolios. Prior to joining ADIA Justin spent five years at Skandia Investment Group. Justin has an MSc in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling and a BSc in Economics with Actuarial Studies from the University of Southampton.
Justin Preston – Director, Head of Equity, Public Markets Investment Advisory
Chris is a Director within the Diversifying Strategies team and is responsible for liquid alternative and multi-assset research. Chris joined bfinance as an analyst in May 2011 from JM Finn & Co where he worked in client services. Chris graduated from the London School of Economics with a Masters in the Philosophy of Science and also holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Warwick. Chris is also a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.
Julien Barral - Senior Associate, Public Markets, Equities Specialist
Julien joined bfinance in January 2008. Julien focuses on equity asset allocation, investment manager reviews, investment manager selection and Smart Beta engagements. He has co-authored a number of articles on Smart Beta. Julien has previous experience at Fortis Banque Monaco. Julien has a first class BSc in Applied Mathematics from the Sophia Antipolis - Nice University, France and a Masters in Finance specialising in Risk and Asset Management from Edhec Business School, Lille-Nice, France.
Robert Doyle – Senior Associate, Public Markets, Equities Specialist
Robert is a Senior Associate within the Public Markets team, specialising in equity manager research. Robert joined bfinance in October 2015, having spent five years as a fund research analyst at private wealth management firm Saunderson House. Robert graduated from Cass Business School with a Masters in Investment Management and also holds a first class honours degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Warwick. Robert has previous experience within the Private Client Services team of Ernst & Young LLP. Robert is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
Joey Alcock – Senior Associate, Public Markets Investment Advisory
Joey is a Senior Associate in bfinance’s Public Markets Investment Advisory team based in London. He is responsible for investment advisory services in equities across all geographies, covering active management, traditional passive and smart beta allocations. Prior to joining bfinance in June 2016, Joey was a Consultant at Frontier Advisors in Melbourne for 11 years, providing investment advice to a number of major Australian institutional investors as well undertaking investment research and fund manager due diligence across various asset classes. He holds a Masters of Applied Finance, as well as undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Arts from the University of Melbourne.
